  1. Actually a useful tool

Posted by Andy Ruddock on Mar 10th 2017

I have seen the evolution of the ice pick over the years and thought it was cool but figured it was kinda a novelty item. I wasn't surprised how well it was made, but I was surprised how big it is. Its a great size and weight to be a useful tool. I've already used it several times at work for various things including changing belts on one of our buses. Also makes a good punch for doing leather work, and I'm sure there will be other uses. My next project will ne to come up with a way to carry it comfortably all the time , like a belt pouch or something. Its an excellent tool. Thanks Jimmy and crew, appreciate all you do.

  2. Get one

The photos of this do not do it justice. It's much more substantial in-hand, and very well made. Bonus points for the "sshiink" sound it makes when you take it out of the sheathe, and that wonderful "shop" smell that comes from the oil.

Make some more EDC gear Jimmy!

  3. So many uses!

Posted by Cody F on Feb 26th 2017

I've never really even considered an ice pick as a piece of essential tooling but after watching Jimmy's videos, I realized I shouldn't be without one. I received #8 of the special ones with the knurling. The knurling is a great addition really helps with the grip. I just wanna put this thing on display but I know Jimmy would want this put to use and I can't wait to put it to some of the many uses Jimmy has shown on his videos and maybe find some new uses of my own.

  4. Excellent tool, high quality

Purchased for my son and this is a beautiful tool. Jimmy really has done a great job in taking care to hand produce these. I highly recommend. My son works in engineering and is a woodworker as well.

This is nothing but quality. If you have a need for a tool like this, the craftsmanship is over the top, worth twice the price! Thank you Mr. Diresta.

Excellent product that has virtually unlimited uses. It came with a nice polish and is very sharp. I could not be happier with my purchase.

  9. Amazing craftsmanship

I am incredibly impressed with the icepick. I love the quality. I previously purchased 2 of the imported ice picks as gifts for friends and was equally impressed with the quality.

  10. Best ice pick I've ever owned

Posted by on Dec 16th 2016

Well, only ice pick I've ever owned. I bought it as a YouTube souvenir and wasn't concerned about it being practical. It is well made and has several uses. I don't think it will replace my go to poking around Tool. Since the handle is so heavy, it creates an illusion that the pick portion is fragile. The contrast is severe so I'll spend some more time with it learning its capabilities. With that said, who cares about the idiosyncrasies of it?! Its an ice pick made by Diresta. Can't wait to find one at a garage sale 30 years from now and talk about how it use to have a sleeve with a ring attached, and then buy it and remake one. Haha!
